Hi everyone! Yes, I AM STILL ALIVE! Its been over a month since my last post, and you’re probably wondering why..

Well, I left my job in Iloilo and moved back to my hometown in Laguna! Packing all my stuff was a major pain. I used up about 7 balikbayan boxes and had to ship them by boat. Luckily all of my belongings arrived intact thanks to 2go.

Nothing really much happened after that. Unpacked my stuff, applied for internet connection, etc. etc.  :D

Anyways, since i’ve been gone for quite a while, i thought why not give some link love in this post..  tsk tsk tsk!

WUBI – Linux side-by-side with Windows.. The easy way

Posted on the April 16th, 2008 under software, techie by rayland

Installing a Linux distribution side-by-side with a Windows installation can be a hassle. You have to partition the drive, install trough boot, then wait for Linux to finish installing. Sometimes it will be successful, and sometimes you end up with a corrupted Windows boot record. Sucks doesn’t it?

It doesn’t have to be like that anymore! Wubi is the answer! What is Wubi?

Wubi is a Ubuntu installer for Windows users that will bring you into the Linux world with a single click. Wubi allows you to install and uninstall Ubuntu as any other application. If you heard about Linux and Ubuntu, if you wanted to try them but you were afraid, Wubi is for you.

You don’t need to modify your pc in any way. It’s just a simple installer, and installs as you would any other program. Plus it’s absolutely free! :D However, Hibernation is not supported under Wubi. Wubi’s filesystem is also more vulnerable to hardreboots (unplugging the power) than a normal filesystem, so you must try to avoid unplugging the power. These problems, however, are no longer present once the Ubuntu install created by Wubi has been transferred to a dedicated partition using LVPM.

Demonoid is now back online!

Posted on the April 12th, 2008 under the web by rayland

Demonoid.com - A Bit Torrent communityThe long wait is over! Demonoid is back online.. It has been months since the the BitTorrent tracker site has been online due to legal battles. As promised, the site has been brought back in the same state as when it was brought down. If you were already a member before it was brought down, then you can still login with the same info you had before.

Sad to say though, Deimos stepped down from being the administrator for personal reasons. He will surely be missed by the community. :( He did, however, leave the site in the hands of a close friend of his, Umlauf.

I am very happy that Demonoid is back! I’d also like to wish the Demonoid team good luck and more power to what the future may bring! :D
