Iloilo Paraws On the Move

It’s more than just mini boats with artful sails on water; these sailboats are the stars for the yearly Paraw Regatta festival of Iloilo. The festival will commence this Sunday (yipee! more pictures!) February 17th. Wasn’t there a festival recently held here as well? Yep there was, but that was THE Dinagyang festival which is completely different from this one.What is this Paraw Regatta festival anyway? It’s basically a race of manually hulled sailboats in the strait between Iloilo and Guimaras Island. If you haven’t had the chance to witness sailboats do their own thing, then this festival is just what you need over the weekend. (more…)
Dinagyang 2008
