Demonoid is now back online!

Posted on the April 12th, 2008 under the web by rayland

Demonoid.com - A Bit Torrent communityThe long wait is over! Demonoid is back online.. It has been months since the the BitTorrent tracker site has been online due to legal battles. As promised, the site has been brought back in the same state as when it was brought down. If you were already a member before it was brought down, then you can still login with the same info you had before.

Sad to say though, Deimos stepped down from being the administrator for personal reasons. He will surely be missed by the community. :( He did, however, leave the site in the hands of a close friend of his, Umlauf.

I am very happy that Demonoid is back! I’d also like to wish the Demonoid team good luck and more power to what the future may bring! :D

[Verse 1]
Want to but I can’t help it.
I love the way it feels.
This got me stuck between my fantasy and what is real.
I need it when I want it.
I want it when I don’t.
Tell myself I’d stop everyday,
Knowing that I won’t

[Hook #1]
I’ve got a problem and I.. (don’t know what to do about it)
Even if I did, I don’t know if I would quit
But I doubt it. I’m,
Taken by the thought of it..(mmm mm)

And I know this much is true (mmmmm)
Baby, you have become my addiction.
I’m so strung out on you (mmmm)
I can barely move…but I like it,

Posted on the April 8th, 2008 under ramblings, the web by rayland

I was browsing through my Entrecard dashboard when i noticed my ad spots price suddenly increased. Turns out that they have a new pricing scheme. The base price is now 2 credits, and then for every advert waiting in line would mean another 2 credits.

Ads waiting on spot Formula Final price
0 2 2ec
1 2 2ec
2 2*2 4ec
3 2*2*2 8ec
4 2*2*2*2 16ec
5 2*2*2*2*2 32ec
6 2*2*2*2*2*2 64ec
7 2*2*2*2*2*2*2 128ec
8 2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2 256ec
9 2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2 512ec
10 2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2 1024ec

The scheme could be found at the “how the price is calculated” page.

wordpress 2.5 and a new look

Posted on the April 5th, 2008 under ramblings, techie by rayland

I have just upgraded to WordPress 2.5.. or should I say I just “reformatted” my blog to 2.5. Instead of just upgrading my WordPress installation, I thought why not just start from scratch? That way the database wouldn’t be filled with unnecessary entries from plugins I no longer use :D

Well, it wasn’t an easy task but I got it done! :P I used WordPress’ export function to export the entries, pages and comments. Then I just imported it into the new installation, which at that time was installed in a subfolder. Hehe! After I finished installing everything, I moved the installation to the top level of my domain.

I also kind of got bored with my old template so I decided to use a different one. This time the template of choice is Blog Oh Blog V2.0. Just a few more tweaks to the template and everything will be all good!
